Can I migrate from JIRA 3.13.5 straight to JIRA 5 or do I have to got something in the 4's first?

Deleted user February 22, 2012

I have a really old JIRA instance (3.13.5), we were working on moving to 4.x. Today I noticed JIRA 5 was out and when looking at the upgrade instructions noticed that it sounds like we can migrate straight to 5. Obviously have to deal with the plugins and such but will the data migrate clean?

You have to migrate to Jira 4 first, since Atlassian has dropped the portlet migration code in Jira 5. At least this is One reason for that

Most work for plugin developers moving from 3 to 5 will likely be replacing calls to the OSUser framework by calls to Crowd. From 4.3 on Atlassian already gave the chance to do that
