Hi team,
I feel I may already know the answer to this, but i just want to make sure; currently, my whole squad use a Kanban board to track their issues for a project. Our test team came to me to ask if there was a way to only show their tasks and filter it by assignee so the test lead can see who is doing what. She would also like to only show what is being worked on by a week/two weeks. Now to me, this sounds like a Scrum board (two weeks is generally a sprint, and you can view the board by assignee), I suggested it to her and she was happy to give it a go.
My question is; can I create a Scrum board that does what she is after, when the whole team uses a Kanban without creating duplicate tickets? Or is there a way to do this in a Kanban board view?
Hi Zoe - I wouldn't create a scrum board if you are not really running scrum and sprints for the work. Just create a board with a filter that includes the issues you want to see. Then you can simply click on the avatar of the assignee to see that person's tickets.
You want to just show Sub-tasks on the board and not the parent? I would just create a quick filter for that. The JQL would like something like:
issuetype = Sub-task
.

Hi John,
Yeah as much as I didnt want to create a scrum board without actually running sprints/the mature scrum I was once used to (I'm an ex-scrum master), they haven't quite moved over to the scrum way yet (we are waiting until we migrate to the cloud, amongst a few other things). That being said the testers want to commit to getting some work done within a certain timeframe.
I did a query like that, but it still shows the sub-task under the parent task

Yeah I've got swinlanes and quick filters enabled, but the test team have sub-tasks they track time against and I want to be able to only show them so they can move them without taking the parent ticket through the workflow

I have kind of answered my own question; I can, does anyone know if we can show sub-tasks only? Or does it focus on the parent task only?
