Can I work with teams in Jira without using Portfolio?

I want to create to different dev teams and use a field for "team" to assign stories to each team. When browsing through documentations on how to create teams in Jira it is always mentioned that those teams are created in Portfolio.

My question is: do I have to use Portfolio in order to create teams or is there another way? (for Jira Cloud)

Hi Saskia,

I recommend you try with Cycle Control.
It is a solution designed to fill the gap between managing a single team and a portfolio. It allows the creation of a roll-up of multiple teams and tracks their progress and status.

You can run through marketplace & documentation pages to see if this could be useful for your case.
