Can JIRA Script Runner use External APIs?

Hello, 

Can JIRA Script Runner use External APIs to JIRA? For the script I am planning to run in JIRA I want to pull information from my Quickbooks and Stripe accounts, I wanted to make sure that script runner supports external API references.

Yes but depending on the auth method you may have to roll your own code to handle authentication.
