Can Jira set a flag automatically when a link is added to an issue as blocer?

Is there a way in Jira to automatically have a flag set for an impediment when you link one issue to another as a blocking issue?

Right now - you have to open the one issue, link it to another issue as list it as a blocker. Then you have to add the flag to show the 1st issue is being blocked so you see the visual on a board.

Is there a way to have this done in one step vs two?  If not  - any thought about implementing that type of function?

I'm on a server version of Jira, not a cloud version.

Hello Borgel, 

As described by Andrew Here, this functionality cannot be performed by JIRA, however, you should be able to achieve this functionality by using a plugin that syncs field values, since the flag is also a Custom Field.

That being said, you can try the Field Sync Add-on to achieve it.
