Can share filters only with "logged-in users(VIEW)"

JebSpringfield September 20, 2021

Hello,

I have an issue with Jira that is driving me crazy.

I want to share a filter with a group that I'm part of. When I try to "Add Viewers', the drop down box shows me the right group but the "Add" button is disabled. The only way I can share my filters is by selecting the "Any logged in user".

I'm a Jira admin and the group I want to share filters with has the Global permission "Create Shared Objects". What am I missing ?

If you are wondering, I think I tried pretty much all the answers from Atlassian's forums.

   I'm using Jira v7.13.18

Thank you

Hello @JebSpringfield ,

you have to check this,

1. First if you want to share a filter with others , you must have Global permission to share dashboards/ filters —> Create Shared Objects

2. if you want to share a filter to group, you must be a member in that group.

go to user management-> check your group membership by typing your name in users section. You can add/remove groups from here

3.  If the issue continues, please check “integrity checker”, sometimes this will helps many problems.

settings - system - system support- integrity checker.

thanks,

Hello Kagithala,

For some reason I don't see the "integrity checker" option, I only have:

   System Info

   JMX Monitoring

   Audit Log

Is this available in Jira 7.13.18 ?

Thank you

Hello @JebSpringfield ,

I think you have Jira administrator rights.

The above I mentioned will be appear to --> Jira System Administrators., which is in global permissions.

You may need to check with other Jira administrators to identify "Jira system Administrators"

Hello Kagithala,

   Thank you for your help.

I tracked the issue internally in my company and it seems this is a known bug that might have been fixed in newer versions of Jira (unfortunately I don't have access to the ticket), so it seems there is nothing I can do for now.

Take care,

André

Hello,

have you created this filter? Can you make a screenshot from the filter configuration site?

best regards

carina

Hi Carina,

Yes, I created the filter. If by "filter configuration site" you mean "Details-> Edit permissions", this is what I see. When I click on Add, nothing happens for any of the listed groups.

Thank you
