Can't add status to a column in a board? I am a jira-administrator so not sure why?

Sam Grote November 28, 2018

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are not seeing an expected Status in the unmapped Statuses column, it may be due to your board filter using OR clauses. Please can you add it here

Sorry, I am not really sure what this means?

All boards have a JQL filter defined. The way that JQL is written can affect which statuses are shown on a board

Are you a board admin as well?

Also, what is the behaviour for "can't"?  Error message, warning, can't pick up a status, just jumps back to where it was, etc?

Within the General section for Board settings it has me listed as an Administrator so assuming that means I'm a board admin.

There is no "Add Status" option anywhere.  It just says "This column will not show on the board without a status."

Ah, hang on, that means "you can't add a status", not quite the same thing as "can't put a status into a column"

If you can't add a status, then the workflow for the project(s) behind the board do not allow for project admins - they either need to be "simplified" or modified so that they are not shared across projects to enable this.
