Can't change epic start and end date on Gantt chart

With Stories, I can drag the left/right side of the bar that is displayed in the chart and the start/end date changes. With Epics, I can move the whole bar, but I can't extend or shrink the bar. How can I do that?

Hello David,

In Program Configuration - Synchronization, please check 'off' the 'Recalculate Parents' option. This will allow you to modify tasks displayed on WBS Panel and on the Gantt chart that are already parents to other Jira issues.
