Can't change project key in JIRA (Download) 6.2

Hi,

When I try to change the project key (from within the Edit Project popup), I press the 'Update' button, the spinner spins but then nothing changes and the popup doesn't close. If I cancel and re-open the popup, the key is as it was before.

I can update the description, however.

I can't see any errors anywhere in the logs.

Can anyone help?

Hi Richard, we have a known issue with this functionality (see here), if the project lead of this project was renamed, the project key change won't work. You may check whether this is the case.

Dear Atlassian support team, I have the same issue on JIRA v6.4.11, even when I haven't changed project lead. Could you provide any suggestion?
