Can't complete bulk edit due to too many custom fields

So - here's my situation:

I'm using JIRA core with its latest navigation enabled (which I hate but thats another story)

I'm bulk-editing some bugs.

I've selected them,

I've chosen to edit the issues

I edit assignee and comment on the issues (permissions that I definitely have)

When I scroll to the bottom of the page, the custom fields have stopped loading (early) and there's no next button

Has anyone experienced this, or have some way of overcoming this? 

I'm aware that editing the context of the custom fields would be a way around this issue however I do not have the permissions to perform this, nor the time.

Does this issue happen with different browsers? Have you tried in chrome?
