Ningning Tao February 9, 2012

How can I install this plugin correctly?

I tried to insall the following plugin to Jira downloaded version 4.4.4.

https://plugins.atlassian.com/plugin/details/5190

Following the instructions, I put the downloaded plugin to JIRA\atlassian-jira\WEB-INF\lib

Then the JIRA instance can't start anymore.

It showed the following error message:

The following plugins are required by JIRA, but have not been started:

 • Gadget Directory Plugin (com.atlassian.gadgets.directory)
 • Atlassian JIRA - Plugins - Project Config Plugin (com.atlassian.jira.jira-project-config-plugin)
 • Atlassian OAuth Admin Plugin (com.atlassian.oauth.admin)
 • Embedded Gadgets Plugin (com.atlassian.gadgets.embedded)
 • Gadget Dashboard Plugin (com.atlassian.gadgets.dashboard)
 • Atlassian JIRA - Plugins - Gadgets Plugin (com.atlassian.jira.gadgets)
 • Atlassian REST - Module Types (com.atlassian.plugins.rest.atlassian-rest-module)
 • Gadget Spec Publisher Plugin (com.atlassian.gadgets.publisher)
 • Atlassian JIRA - Plugins - REST Plugin (com.atlassian.jira.rest)
 • Atlassian OAuth Service Provider Plugin (com.atlassian.oauth.serviceprovider)
 • Atlassian OAuth Consumer Plugin (com.atlassian.oauth.consumer)

That version of the plug-in does not support the version of JIRA you are trying to install it on.

Please note that this is the page for our Legacy Connector for Salesforce.com and JIRA (for JIRA 4.3 and below). This version will be placed in maintenance mode.

Source: The plug-in page.

The newer version located here is installed with the Universal Plugin Manager (UPM) or the manual install instructions located here where you install via the UPM browse button or in the <JIRA_HOME>/plugins/installed-plugins location.

NOTE: Make sure you remove the old version that you installed or it will cause problems!

Respectfully,

-Jeremy

Read above that bit of the log - it usually shows you why it's getting stuck loading one or more plugins.
