Can't seem to bulk move items in the navigation

Hi all,

I'm looking for some help please!

Where can I find the bulk move action in the new Jira navigation? I have searched online but the only documentation I can find is for the old navigation.

To confirm:

  • I am an admin on the project that I'm trying to bulk move FROM
  • I have the option to move individual tickets on this project
  • I have the create issue permission on the new project I want to move tickets TO (however I can't seem to get this far to see the bulk move view)

This is the view I see when clicking on the menu on the right hand side of the search view

Thanks for any help in advance

Hello Annie,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

The bulk move option is available in the "All work" tab in the new navigation. So, as per the shared snippet, you are checking the right place.

To bulk move the items a user also needs "Make bulk changes" Global permission.

Navigate to Settings > System > Global permissions to check if you are added to the group who have the "Make bulk changes" Global permission.

Refer: Manage global permissions

Hello @Annie Kearns ,

Thank you for your question. 😊

1. You should have global permission to "Make bulk changes"

2. You should have project permission to "Move Issues"

Hi guys thanks a lot for the feedback

Am I right in thinking I don't have permission to view global settings?

I can't seem to locate where the global settings are in the new nav.

The below is my current view. General settings is for my own personal settings and notifications are as they say on the tin. There's no settings in the left had nav.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks!

Hello Annie,

Since you are not a Jira Administrator, you cannot see the "Jira Admin Settings" using the settings icon.

You will probably need to check with the organisation admin so that he/she can add you to the group having "Make bulk changes" Global permission.

Thanks Jasmeet

Is there a particular type of admin role I would require? I am site admin at the moment:

Yes, Annie. You will need an organisation admin role.

Site admins are responsible for managing a site in an organisation. This includes adding new apps to the site and managing Marketplace apps installed on the site. They have limited access to manage billing.

However, an organisation admin is the highest level of admin. They’re responsible for managing users, groups, apps, and security within their organisation.

Okay thanks Jasmeet, I will request the bulk change global permission.

Thanks for your help!
