Can the reply button be disabled for jira comments?

The reply button creates threads in jira comments and this hides replies when scrolling through the comments, and things then become out of order.  Can we disable the reply button that creates threads?

Unfortunately there is not an option to disable threaded commenting at this time.

There is a change request to add that option. I encourage you to add your vote to it and get your colleagues to vote on it also.

I am not aware of a way to disable that. You should probably open a support ticket with Atlassian to get their feedback. Please post back here with their answer.
