We have one jira server in AWS of version 8.15.0.
Recently we set up a datacenter on AWS with 2 nodes.
We are planning to migrate from jira server to data center, Can we apply datacenter license to jira server without upgrade jira to DC?
Could you please clarify on this asap? and suggest some best practices
Hi @Cristen Stone ,
Welcome to the community !!
Hi @prasad Biddika ,
To migrate from Jira server to Jira DC, follow these 2 steps. i.e. Migrate to non-clustered Data Center and then add nodes to cluster.
1. Review and upgrade your apps
If you have any apps installed on your site, you'll need to upgrade to the Data Center app version, if one is available. To avoid any impact to your apps, Atlassian recommends you do this before you enter your Jira Data Center license key.
2. Upgrade your Jira license
It is described in https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/migrate-from-server-to-data-center-993929572.html
Now to add nodes into cluster, please follow below steps

Yes, you can apply DC license to Server that is upgrading your Jira instance. Once applied, you'll need to restart Jira.
