Can we create a new issue type with Epic type properties?

Hi All

I am on JIRA Software 7.2 and i want to create a new issue type which would have epic type properties such as on agile board it populates on left hand navigation and we can drag drop Bugs on top of it.

Is it possible? or are we restricted to using the default Epic issue type?

No, there can be only one Epic type.

There is a hack you can make in the database that sort of makes it look like a second issue-type is an Epic, but it causes some very odd behaviour and can end up damaging your data.  Don't do it.
