Hi All,
I have a question such that is it possible to have Jira Server Migration from one instance where licenses are expired and currently has no license to Jira Data Center which is a different instance with 2000 users license.
Can we do this Migration?
Regards,
Yash
The short answer is there's nothing speaking against migration. And you can find extensive resources online by Atlassian to plan, prepare and perform the migration, here for example: Migrate from Server to Data Center
I hope that is helpful. If you have more specific questions, we're happy to help. :)
Best, Max
Hi Yash,
As your Jira server license has expired, it is challenging to migrate data from Jira Server to Jira Data Center. Also, if you are utilizing any migration tools, it's essential to keep in mind that the migration process should not impact your Jira data center users, especially considering you have 2000 active users.
OpsHub Migration Manager (OMM) can help to migrate data from Jira server to Jira data center with Zero downtime and no data loss. The migration tool also takes care of:
-Zero Downtime: OMM ensures a smooth and seamless transition, minimizing any downtime during the migration process.
-Agile-based Migration: Our migration tool is designed to deliver an agile-based migration approach, making the process efficient and flexible.
-Full Fidelity Migration: Leaving no data behind.
-Robust Recovery and Reconciliation Support: OpsHub has a robust failure recovery mechanism, queueing up failures for resolution even when an end system is temporarily unavailable.
-Enables support for throttling and controlled API calls to your Jira: This will help regulate the rate of API requests and ensure optimal performance and stability.
The only prerequisite for the migration is to have one user license in Jira server to read data. However, this will not affect your Jira data center users' operations, and they can continue using the system seamlessly.
Take a look at some of our case studies where OpsHub successfully executed Jira migrations:
