Can we install JIRA 5 on Windows server 2008 and will it be supported by Atlassian?

Hi, This is a Query and not a issue.

1. Can I install JIRA 4.4 OR JIRA 5 on Windows 2008 OS?

2. Can I install 32 Bit version of JIRA 5 on 32 Bit OS but 64 bit hardware?

3. As Windows 2008 is not appearing in the Atlassian installation document, will it be supported by Atlassian?

Regards,

Hello,

You can check the information here, you can find the following information:

  1. JIRA is a pure Java-based application and should run on any supported operating system, provided that the JDK / JRE requirements are satisfied.
  2. Atlassian only officially supports JIRA running on x86 hardware and 64-bit derivatives of x86 hardware. If you are installing JIRA from an archive, you should create a dedicated user account on the operating system to run JIRA, since JIRA runs as the user it is invoked under and therefore can potentially be abused.

And if you would like to start up JIRA with Windows service, you can find the detail procedure here even for the 64 bits system.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
