Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

No, because it's an unmitigated disaster to have more than one person as the current assignee (person ultimately responsible for getting it done).  Jira was deliberately designed to avoid that anti-pattern.

There is, of course, nothing wrong with "and go ask these people if the assignee is not available".  People add custom fields for that - groups, multiple user pickers, teams, or even use boards (a board = a team, so if the issue is on the board, go to talk to the team that own it)

Hello @Anita King

Welcome to the community.

No, only one user at a time can be specified in the Assignee field.

If you want to call out other users on the task you would need to add a custom field for that information.

Hi @Anita King ,

I might have a workaround that is easy to use and implement. Part of our app Awesome custom fields for Jira is a multi-people/group picker you could use.
Adding people there automatically adds them as watchers depending on the setting you choose. You could give it a try.

i am happy to assist if any problems occur.

Cheers and sorry for the commercial break 😇
Samuel
