Hi all, I have tried searching for this but could nt find anything that looked similar...
In JIRA I would like to automate the updating of speciifc text to link to a particular Confluence page.
For example, as I update the comments on an issue, if I were to type the word DOCUMENTATION, then the automation would update the word format and include a link to a documentation Confluence site.
I hope that makes sense...and I hope it is possible!
Thanks.
Thanks @Shawn Doyle - ReleaseTEAM
I do not see quite the same screens and options as you have but that may be as I am not using the Cloud version of Jira, however I have used the following to try to mirror your config:
The rule saves without issue, but when I add the word DOCUMENTATION into an issue I get the update above (in the red box) in the rule audit log - and nothing changes in the issue itself. The issue comments just contain the word DOCUMENTATION:
Any thoughts at all what I may be doing wrong?

Hi @Luke Wirth ☺️, welcome to the Community!
If you’re open to using a third-party app, AutoPage could be a great solution for automated documentation.
You can find us at the Atlassian Marketplace ➡️ https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1218503
This is how this might look like:

Hi @Lukas Nicolai_Seibert ... thank you!
I am not trying to auto-generate or update documentation in Confluence, simply automatically update a word typed in JIRA to be a link to an existing Confluence page (as opposed to having to type the word, highlight it, click on link etc. etc.)
However I can see a use for the AutoPage plug-in so will look to see if the organization will consider this.

@Luke Wirth got you! But happy to hear you see a use case for AutoPage nevertheless. If you have any further question or want to get a quick demo we're always happy to help: https://calendly.com/coderay/autopage-cloud-demo?back=1&month=2025-07
