Can you move a plan from basic roadmap to the advanced version of the roadmap ?

Hi @Monica,

Both roadmapping tools are different products. The basic roadmap belongs to a single project while the advanced roadmap is designed to run across multiple projects. It would make not much sense to duplicate the roadmap of a single project as a plan in advanced roadmaps. 

The tools have a different feature set as well. Advanced roadmaps goes a long way beyond the basic roadmap in terms of functionality.

So you would need indeed need to create a new plan in advanced roadmaps if you want to create a new roadmap there.

Though that may seem disappointing at first, the good news is this is really simple. When creating a roadmap initially all you need to do to setup a new plan, is specify your data sources (multiple projects, filters or boards). Once done, you'll be up and running. By default both roadmaps use the same start and due date fields to visualise the start and end dates of your work, so updates you do in one roadmap will reflect in the other.

Hi Monica,

Roadmaps in Jira Projects and Advanced Roadmaps are separate products and work a bit differently to each other so you can't move plans between the two.

Advanced Roadmaps is a really great way of looking at work at a higher level, across multiple projects whereas Roadmaps are based on a single project.
