I created a project, but for some reason I cannot be set as the correct role to delete tasks.
I get this error when trying to edit Project Roles for user:
The issue I was having was being assigned any role to the project, but we categorised the project and then for some reason it allowed me to be added as an admin role to the project, which then allowed me to delete it. But strange because no one else was assigned a role when they were added to the project - might be to do with the fact I created it? We're on a free plan, so there are no "roles" as such.
Anyway, I can delete now but what a hassle...
Hello @Calum Fleming ,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
To Delete a task, you'd require the Delete issue permission. You can navigate to the Project Settings > Permissions and add yourself to the Group/Project Role that has this permission.
If the permission is only granted to the "atlassian-addons-project-access" group, you may add other Project Role/Groups/Single user to this permission, since users cannot be explicitly added to this group.
Thanks,
Swathi

Hello,
Welcome to community :)
The project role "atlassian-addons-project-access" is used by the application installed on your Jira Cloud instance to access the project. Whenever a new application is installed, Jira adds application permissions to the project, and these entries are recorded with JIRA as the agent performing the project role change. So we cannot change this role here
But if you are trying to give delete issue permission
project settings > permissions and look at the Delete permission ( please cehck if any group or rple is added )
if the role atlassian-addons-project-access is added you can remove it or keep it that way but cannot asisgn this role to any user
Next steps :
You can check this article on how to add roles to users and add this role to delete pemrisison issue
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/manage-project-roles/
Thank You,
Prachi

Hey @Calum Fleming
Why are you trying to change that role?? its a system role.
i suggest that you will look at the permission scheme and see which roles/groups have the ability to delete a work-item, and give yourself that access.
