Cannot edit Kanban Board's Issue Detail View.

Jerry Harris July 6, 2018

Jira documentation (here) specifies I can edit my Kanban Board's issue detail view. However, that option is not available to me. I have permissions to change my project's Workflow and Screens, so I should have permissions to edit this view.

I am using Jira 48bfca9e and the documentation was for 7.9. Unsure how to map this and whether this feature was removed.

I found my own answer, just in case anybody else runs into this.

Go to your profile and turn off the Labs feature for "New Jira Issue View".

Hi Jerry,

Welcome on Community.

Project Administration permission won't allow you to modify boards which are "standalones". You must be a board admin to edit it from the "Edit board" menu when browsing it. If you're not a board admin you might ask that permission from your colleague who built the board. As a board admin, you'll be able to modify the Issue Details view.

Also, just to be sure, are you using Jira Cloud?

Cheers

Hi Micky,

I found that by turning off the Labs checkbox for the New Issue View, I was able to change the Issues Detail view on my board.

Thanks!

Jerry
