So i needed to make jria work over ssl so i followed the atlassian guide and the the certificate was improted succesfull into the keystore my configuration is correct and i have no erros or warnings in my catalina.out however i cant access jira on https://localhost:8443
It just keeps telling me in the browser firefox cant establish a connection
Since it was a working environment i thought im going to make a test virtual machine and start from scratch so i did that and it was just the same i get no errors or warnign in my catalina.out but still i cant access jira on https
Operating system: centos 6 and on the test vm ubuntu 16.04
Are you using webserver like Apache or Nginx with reverse proxy for ssl?
Which guide did you follow?
i did not use apache or nginx i followd the atlassian official guide and it did nothing after 2 days a coworker thought about putting debugging on from there we found out that it was an issue of rights jira could not make the folder Catalina after changing the permissions ssl worked i find it very unusefull that this error wasnt in the regular catalina log and that i never got any problem with permissions and ive been using jira for 2 years now
Furthermore the configuratiosn guide for ssl on 7.4 is not correct and does not work. there are arguments specified that jira does not recognise in a fresh installed 7.4 jira environment
