Card layout

Marta Goralova October 26, 2020

hi all, pls, i am trying to setup new Kanban wall for our busines projects. And on the cards, I would like to bring out the 'colour options' - meaning, the card could have the green/amber/red status shown on the display when viewing the board. image.png

Hi @Marta Goralova

On top of what others have written, I would also suggest upvoting feature requests like Colored labels which would probably can provide you exactly what you mocked-up here.

Thanks Peter, will definitely vote for this ! if this was possible in the DataLake JIRA from where I am currently asked to move our project out, then I am sure they could do the 'magic' and enable it in JIRA@IBM. Thanks for the hint !

@Marta Goralova , in the screenshot you provided you are displaying some color mechanism that I am not familiar with and suspect that it is either a mock-up or an addon. The only card color mechanism OOTB is as @Chris Buzon mentions.

Hi Jack, I am displaying a mechanism, that was well available in the JIRA Data Lake https://jira.data.zc2.ibm.com , from where we have to move out now. Maybe it is by the template used, as in DataLake we used the 'software development' but here, I am using the businness kanban wall. Still, this simple feature would be great for tracking the progress of several projecs running and when we review with our management line, where such colour coding is easy to spot and follow up. Thanks.

There is a feature on boards called Card Color - it's one of the board settings on the Kanban board.  You can select the color you want based on a query, assignee, priority, etc. It doesn't appear as a colored icon, but instead, it's along the side (see screenshots)

In this case I have the color Red assigned to a query - any tickets matching the query will get the red line.

The FireFox Test ticket does not have a colored bar because it doesn't match any of my card color queries.

Here's the area you define the color.  You'll have to experiment a bit to get the visibility you're looking for.

Thanks Chris for your answer, and I am aware of this colouring schema but that is not what i am looking for.  What we used in JIRA at DataLAke  was exactly the colour coding I showed in my screen shot. If it was possible there, I wonder why this feature is not pulled to this JIRA where we are asked to move our projects.

I see!

The on-premises versions of Atlassian Products do have a very different feature set that is version dependent, and they can be changed in ways that cannot easily be done in Cloud (or in some cases, cannot be done on cloud at all).

I hope you find an add-on that does what you're looking for.

Is this the paid form of Trello? How do you get the cards to appear on one big screen?
