I am trying to change the Full name, username and email of a user. When I open up user management by going to Admin > Directory > Users I only see the option to suggest changes to the user's details instead of being able to make changes to it.
I tried suggesting the change and an email was sent to the user informing about the suggested change to the user but even after they approved the suggested changes. The user's new details aren't reflected properly in the Atlassian account. It's been 4+ days since the change.
Our domain isn't verified, and I thought the user accounts were unmanaged.
I asked the user to change their account details by editing their user profile but I have been informed that they an alert " Your account is managed by the organisation".
Has anyone faced a similar issue?
I have the same problem as OP. The user's email address is in our (verified) domain. When I go to Directory > Users and edit the User's details, I see only "suggest changes".
Additional note: even though the user's status is "invited", I can see other "invited" users in my verified domain who have the "update details" button rather than the "suggest changes" button.
While it's helpful to know that I can ask Atlassian for support, it would be even more helpful if the community had found a resolution to the problem, published here, that precluded the need to go to Atlassian Support. Have you/anyone heard any news about this issue since last year?
Hi @Sagar Mainali ,
If the account is managed, an organization admin can edit the user's details by going to Settings > User Management, selecting Directory, searching for the user, and then editing the users information, including the email address.
However when the domain of a user’s account is not verified, the user’s account is unmanaged. In that case, only the user can edit their own account details.
In cases where users receive alerts that their account is managed by the organization, it indicates that the domain is verified, and changes need to be made within the managed account settings.
If users face issues with changes not reflecting properly even after approving suggested changes, you can reach out to Atlassian Support for further assistance.
Regards,
Bhushan
