Change a Task into an Epic?

you change a task into an Epic?

We created a bunch of tasks and sub tasks but now would like the tasks to be Epics and the sub tasks to be just tasks. Is that possible?

Actually i just found out that the project i was working on was not converted to an Agile project and that is why i could not change the type into an Epic.

Epic is just another issue type in JIRA. You should be able to move the Task into a Epic issue. Just make sure that you enter all the required fields for the Epic issue type.

Thanks, but what i was trying to do was not create an epic and drag the task into the epic, but take the existing task and convert it to an epic. So the task would no longer exist as a task but as an epic. Thanks in advance for you assistance!
