Change of Work-flow on a project already started

Hi guys,

I have an problem over Work-flow in the Jira software, can you please help me out?

I have changed the workflow of a software project which was already started. In fact I have associated workflow which we have defied on our own for Epics, Stories, Tasks and Subtasks. For the issues (bugs) we have associated the default Jira Workflow. After I have done that all things went well as I expected, except in the project backlog it has listed all the issues/ Stories ect which we have completed over the past completed sprints.

When I look at already completed Stories/ tasks/ ect it was pointed in middle of the our user defied workflow and when I manually transition through the workflow and set to final state those items were removed from the backlog. However still all the bugs we have completed still displayed even if those were at the last state of the Jira workflow (“closed” state)

Please let me know which I can remove them from the backlog.

The backlog is controlled through your Board. The Board is not updated when you update your workflow. 

In there you will find everything from what to display in your backlog to the filters to remove already completed issues after a certain time,

Also remember that since you now have two different workflows in your project that if you have changed the statuses, then you are going to get a bit more difficulties in the mapping of your board columns.

Hi Krister, thank you for your reply and as you have suggested I have managed to remove the already completed issues using a filter query.

However now I have another issue where when we have completed (arrive to final state of workflow) a task\ issue Jira is not marking it as completed task by putting right mark and strike through the issue number. Can you help me out please

In your new workflow did you set the issue as resolved in your final step? 

You need to do this either by calling a screen to set the resolution or to set the resolution automatically by setting it with the post function in the transition.
