We've got an integrated solution with Jira and Confluence with Jira managing users...
We have a group of people that we have just given access to confluence (and some time in the future _may_ get access to jira), but it appears they cannot change their passwords, because they cant be changed in Confluence (due to external user management) and cant be modified in Jira, because they dont have access.
is there any solution to this other than an admin setting their password in jira, or using user management in confluence.
The solution to this was:
When setting up the external User directory (jira) in confluence, check the box that makes the external directory Read/Write.
The user can then update their details in Confluence and those changes will be reflected back in Jira.
nb. I had to remove and then re-add the jira directory to enable this functionality.
Hi Peter,
why don't you give them the right to login to jira and change their password there ? You can give them the role jira-users and configure your projects, so that they cannot see anything in Jira.
Best regards
Thomas
