Changing the Assigne field to User Picker for use with AD

I've changed our Jira to be integrated with Active Directory and it seems to have automatically changed the behaviour of the Reporter field to become a User Picker that is linked to AD.

The other main field which is the Assigne has not transfered across and still just apears as a drop down box with all the old users that have been setup within Jira.

Any idea how and where to set the assigne field to become a User Picker?

I don't think the behaviour has changed. The reporter allows you to select any user in jira, so a user picker makes sense.

The assignee shows just the users that have the ASSIGNABLE permission in the project, which is normally less than say 30 or 40, in which case the Select makes sense because it's faster to use.

I think you need to have a look at your perm schemes, and make sure only those in the Developers role for the project are assignable.

NB - the user picker is not linked to AD per se, it's just that jira has sucked in all your users from AD.
