Changing the estimate statistic

I have three projects, 2 using hours and 1 using story points for estimating. I would like to use the same on both. The story points have been assumed to be 1 day. If I change the Estimate Statistic from Story Points to Original Time Estimate what will be the impact? Will the story points disappear? Or will they be converted somehow into a duration?

Hi Lindsey,

Estimation in Boards are just a link to a field holding a value to be displayed on your cards.

Story Points and Time Tracking (Original Estimate...) are custom fields which won't loose their value. That being said, if you change from estimation in points to hours (or the opposite) there won't be any automatic conversion, Jira UI will just switch from using one field to another and base its reports on that field value.

In other words, before switching you should make sure both values are available.
