Choose other than default permission scheme when creating a project

When creating a new project IT uses the Default Permission Scheme. Is there a way to choose what Permission Scheme I want to use for a project as I am creating it or do I have to change it after the creation?

In addition to this one, you might also want to take a look at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.wittified.jira.delegated-admin (which allows you to edit the permission scheme after the project creation).
