Classic Roadmap - remove start and end dates from epics

I want to remove start and end dates from some epics that we haven't yet prioritised so the are marked as 'No dates defined' like the epic in the screenshot below.

I found the solution and it was stupidly easy. Just right click on the epic - it displays a menu with Clear Start/End date.

Unfortunately this isn't working form me. Whenver e Remove those dates (Start/Due) and clcik on another epic, this one will put again the old dates, which are out of the range of the sprints that have been already closed and that are connected to this epic.
Jira is so terrible :-(

I cannot right click on the epic, when I do so, I just see the default right click options from Google Chrome...

There is another way:

  1. Add existing fields `Start date` and `Due date` into Epic issue layout
  2. Save
  3. Voila, you are able to set and clear both dates on the issue details screen.
