Hi,
I am trying to clone a template that we crated for a sprint. However when we clone each of the tasks come over with the word clone in the short description. Is there a quick way to remove the work clone from each of the tasks? I do not have admin rights to export the template in csv and re-upload.
Any help or recommendations would be helpful!
Thanks,
William
Advanced query all tasks with the text clone in the field.

For the Summary field, use an automation rule to trim the field.

Hi,
I am going into my template which is created as an epic. Then I go in and select - More - Clone. I rename the title. Then I go in and then go back in and move it to the correct project.
This pulls over the template but each task has the word clone in front of it.

The built in Clone operation will clone only one issue, not an Epic and all its children.
Are you using a third party app, like Deep Clone, that enables you to clone an Epic and its children in one shot? If you don't know the answer you may need to ask your Jira Administrator. We would need to know which third party app you are using to investigate if there is a way to do what you want.

Thanks for that clarification.
There is a global setting that specifies the prefix to automatically add to cloned issues. I think if you eliminate it there, then it will not show up in your cloned sub-tasks.
Your Jira Administrator can make that change by clicking on the gear icon and selecting System, then General Configuration, then Advanced Settings. Note that is a global setting so it will affect every Clone execution.

I think you could use an Automation Rule to trim the "CLONE" text from the Summary field.
Take a look at this post.
