When running a query or user @username in a comment, the results render with an ID rather than the the name searched making it impossible to know what's in the query. How/where can this be updated?
Hi @[deleted] -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
For JQL queries, it is still possible to preserve the user name: just wrap it in quotation marks and Jira will not convert it to the user's account id value. This makes maintaining the filters easier.
For example:
assignee IN ("Carla Shepard")
If you instead typed in your user name and let auto-complete select it, the account id value would replace it.
Kind regards,
Bill
Hi @[deleted] ,
This is a default behavior in Jira Cloud, Due to GDPR compliance, you will not be able to see the user name in the filter anymore and the reason behind this is to ensure consistency and accuracy in user references, especially in cases where multiple users might have the same name.
Display Name in Comments: When mentioning a user using @username in a comment, Jira Cloud will display the user's account ID by default. However, the mentioned user will receive a notification and will see their name mentioned in their notifications, not the ID.
JQL and User Display: Unfortunately, in JQL searches, Jira Cloud typically displays user account IDs rather than names. This behavior is not customizable within Jira's native functionality.
Also, if you feel my input help you please accept the answer.

Bhushan
