Comments box on Jira tickets. The JS library changes depending on how you access to it. Why?

The TextBox framework in Jira tickets changes depending if you acces to a ticket with its own link:

https://xxx.atlassian.net/browse/xxx

Or using the browser url:

https://xxx.atlassian.net/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=25&projectKey=DS&modal=detail&selectedIssue=xxx

I prefer the textbox framwork of the second one, but this link expires when the ticket is moved to another status.

Why both textbox are using different frameworks?

E.g. in the second one you can use markdown language, but it is not possible in the first one.

Hello Fran,

The Modal Popup that occurs at the link "https://xxx.atlassian.net/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=25&projectKey=DS&modal=detail&selectedIssue=xxx" is part of the "The new Jira issue view"

The New View is still rolling out and updating various sections of the Atlassian User Interface.  Full details on the current rollout a can be seen here:

and as covered in the article:

We're in the process of redesigning one of Jira's key components—the issue view. Log in or create an account at the top-right of this page, then click Watch at the top-right to be notified about the latest goodies we're adding to the new issue view.

Regards,
Earl
