Hello,
Our company has merged with another and both are currently using Jira Tools on a standard cloud account. We are meeting to discuss the potential of merging both Atlassian accounts into one and wanted so advise on what we needed to think about?
I believe that we can copy the information from once account to another but a merging of such can't be done. So i presume we would need to increase the licensing on one instance to account for the new users coming into the instance. And we would have different email domain accounts. I don't think this will cause to much of an issue but please let me know if this needs to be looked into.
Just seeing if anyone has gone through something similar and how they did it?
Hello @Adam Taylor,
Thank you for reaching out on the Atlassian Community!
Typically, when a company has merged with another company and you need to combine your Atlassian products/licenses/etc., the best approach would be to directly open a Support Ticket.
For this situation, I recommend selecting 'Billing, payment, and pricing' in the dropdown, and our billing team can help address the two organizations merging together.
From there, if needed you can open a second ticket under 'Migration Support' to be provided support for how to migrate your two organizations into one.
Hi Adam,
Yes, you would need to adjust the licenses in the destination instance to handle the users coming from the other instance. Then you can use a tool like the Revyz Data Manager for Jira app to clone all of the configurations and data from the one instance into the new instance.
