Company managed project missing features that Team managed have

We have been evaluating Jira with both Company managed and Team managed project. As it turns out, we need to use Company managed so that we can get the Advanced Roadmap feature. Now, there are a few differences where Team managed feels more advanced and offers more flexibility.

Two of these features that we need and are missing in Company managed projects are:

• Epic and Label filter in addition to the Quick filter in the Board and Backlog view
• Thumbnail image of the issue in the board view

It's interesting that the Epic and Label filter are available on the Roadmap view, but not on the Board and Backlog. This leads me to believe that they could be rolled out to the remaining views soon. Does anyone know if this is true and if so, when will they be added?

Am I missing something, is there a way to enable these features on a Company managed project?

Hi @Ana 

If you want quick filter based on your requirement like labels then you can create your own quick filter under board configuration

And for epics there is epic panel which provide full functionality upon its child issues under backlog

If you click on backlog>>epic panel>>particular epic

It will show only that epic related issues

Hi @Ana ,

indeed, there are various differences between the two. CMP provides a great deal, more flexibility and configurability. As for the epic filter, indeed, that does not exist, at least in the manner that it does in TMP. There are a couple of options in CMP. You could create swim lanes by epic or you could create quick filters for your epic. However, the latter would get very busy if you had a lot of epics. I'm unsure exactly what you mean by the thumbnail.

Jack, thanks for the quick response!

Quick filters are a workaround, but we are already using them for labels, adding epics would be a mess.

Not to mention that the Label filter and Quick filter have different logic - one using the AND operator for a combination of multiple items and the other using the OR operator.

You should have avatars on you CMP board too. Note that only avatars for users that have a card on the board will appear.
