Complete JIRA Migration

Hi Team,

I have a quick question- I have a JIRA board (with project s and issues) that was used by my Vendor, and now that the application is live I want to migrate all those things to my own personal company JIRA along with all the backlogs, attachments (like literally everything). would really appreciate if someone can please assist me on that

So my vendor made a server backup and I was thinking to upload that backup to my JIRA server.
Now that he have a 9.6GB backup, I want to import that to our own JIRA server and was thinking which all steps I should take- I can see three options: Merge with existing cloud users, overwrite, I have migrated user data using JIRA assistant- In this case I do not want any of the previous users to be copied here and just want the project (including issues and attachments to be shown in our board).

Also, I was wondering if that can cause any existing project override on our own server if we import anything.

I have never done the migration that you are attempting to do, so you should not consider me an expert.

You might also consider reaching out to Atlassian Support directly for guidance on the best way to accomplish this task.

Hey @Trudy Claspill Thanks for your prompt response Really appreciate that. I am not sure if they use the JIRA cloud server or not, but can surely check this thing.

I want to migrate the entire site only. Since my vendor does not want to maintain this now so we want to migrate everything in order to have our references. Both JIRA sites doesn't have any third-party apps installed I believe.

Welcome to the community.

To be clear, does your vendor use JIRA Cloud also? And you are talking about migrating data from one JIRA Cloud site to another JIRA Cloud site?

Are you trying to migrate data from specified projects only, or the entire site?

Do the two JIRA sites have all the same 3rd party Apps installed?
