Configuring Email Notifications for Jira OnDemand

I've used Jira before in several places, including OnDemand, so I'm aware of the need to apply a notification scheme to issues and configure email server to send off emails when issues are modified in some form.

However on our OnDemand instance, I can't see how to do the SMTP configuration part. Its not under the usual Jira Admin > System > Mail options when logged in as the administrator of the Jira instance, and its looking like its not setup since actions which should trigger email alerts apparently don't.

On a Jira OnDemand instance, should the SMTP settings be configured out of the box ? Or is there something I need to do specific to OnDemand ?

OnDemand comes configured by default with an SMTP server set up, there's no need to configure anything. :)
