Configuring fields on the Story Screen to be displayed in a particular order

First, let me say thanks in advance for any help! I'm new to Jira and the community in general. With that said, on to the question at hand :)

I have had a few users ask if they could organize fields in a particular order on the story screen (that's what I'm calling it, I may very well be wrong). In the configuration screen, we set it in the order that's asked, but Jira doesn't display them in that order after confirming. Thoughts?

Hello Adam,
You can do this by customizing the "Screens" section - the documentation can be found here:

You will need to be a JIRA admin. 

Click the gear icon and select Issues > Screens.

Click the Configure link under Operations and drag the fields around to whatever order you like.
