Hi
When trying to make an application link i got some strange behavior.
Confluence thinks JIRA is down on https://host1:8443 but it's not.
Running Confluence on http://host1:8090.
When trying to relocate in Confluence: it simply doesn't see jira is running.
Where/how to troubleshoot.
Thanks in advance.
I have exaclty the same problem. Jira is up and running when accessing from the browser but not internally. Confluence thinks jira is down.
I am using the IP:PORT lnking method, using standard http on both apps. This was working wonderfully. the problem appeared after I deleted inproduct translation plugin and removed it manually from jira, and then updated all plugins on both apps (jira and conf.)
Currently, I can't see any jira report from confluence!!! and I would have to solve this SOON!
Any Ideas?
Chris, i've tried everything but i still receive the error:
Application 'servername JIRA' seems to be offline. Click here to relocate.
Maybe the self signed certificate is a problem?
When i add new things in Confluence, it IS showing up on the activity stream of JIRA.
So it looks like it's still working fine? not sure?

I have exactly the same problem here. Internally signed certificates - they seem to work, but you always get "application seems to be offline" when testing the links.
It's on our list of things to fix because we have to use gadgets in "anonymous" mode, but we're quite open here, so it's not a huge problem.

Have you tried using the different types of Authentication available?

Running JIRA over SSL and Confluence on HTTP might cause some communication errors?
