I am tasked with moving our Jira projects from one cloud instance to another. We don't want to move the entire instance only certain projects.
Trying to use the copy product data feature poses a problem as I can't select a destination. I believe this is because my login is not the same in both orgs. However, I am an org admin in both our source and the destination.
My searching has not uncovered a solution for this so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello @Dave Ferguson
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
As per the documentation you need to be an Organization Admin and a Product Admin in both sites. Are you both?
I am an org and product admin on both sides. However, under different logins.

You would have to have those permissions for both Organizations under one identity. The Copy functionality can't manage the process using different identities to connect to the two Organizations.

Thank you. I had a feeling that is what I needed to do.
I went and gave my user in the other org access to the source instance and I am now able to see the destination and copy the projects.

Hi Dave - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I would use the Revyz Data Manager for Jira app in the Atlassian Marketplace.

@John Funk why would you recommend this over the native Jira Data Copy tool?

Does it allow you to select custom fields to migrate and/or leave behind on a project-by-project basis? That's the primary key functionality I see missing from the native data copy.
