I'm still rather new to the system and I'm looking for a way to copy a custom form from one project to another within my Jira site but don't see an easy solution.
Is this possible?
Hi @Michael McCullough Michael,
I understand you're looking to copy custom forms between projects within your Jira site. While Jira's native functionality has certain limitations in this area, Smart Forms for Jira offers a solution to meet your needs.
Why Choose Smart Forms for Jira?
Cross-Project Compatibility: Unlike native Jira forms, Smart Forms are accessible across various Jira products, including Jira Service Management (JSM), Jira Work Management (JWM), and Jira Product Discovery (JPD). This ensures that your forms are not confined to a single project or product.
Seamless Form Duplication: With Smart Forms, you can effortlessly copy forms and their submitted data when cloning or moving issues between projects. This feature ensures that all relevant information remains intact, eliminating the need for manual data transfer.
Hi Michael,
If you are talking about Jira Software or Jira Business forms, then no they can't be copied. If you are talking about Advanced/ProForma forms in Jira Service Management, then yes, those can be copied to other JSM projects.

I doubt Deep Clone can do it, but hopefully one of them will come see. :-)

Hi @Michael McCullough, hi @John Funk,
with Deep Clone for Jira you can copy issues including their forms (also between projects), with some known limitations.
Unfortunately, at the moment, we don't clone form templates.

Yes, it is possible, and the way to do it is to go Project settings > Request management > Forms and then click on the three dot menu and select Copy to project for the form you want to copy to a different project.

Just to clarify, this would be for a Jira Service Management project.

Not for as Jira Service Management project. Just standard Jira.

I've been told Deep Clone might be able to do this. Does anyone know if that is correct?
