Create EPIC overview with EPICs not created by the team

JP September 28, 2021

Hi, is it possible to create a dashboard that :

1. Contains all the EPICs by the team/project AND shows the progress of those EPICs? Like a % progress bar? How would the JQL look for something like that?

2. The team is also working on EPICs that were created by a different team - is it possible to add this into the overview as well somehow?

Thanks!

Hello @JP

Welcome to the community.

There is not a built-in dashboard gadget that will provide you with what you want. There are third party apps you could add to your system that would allow you to create reports that could match your needs. I did an internet search for "jira cloud dashboard epic progress" which brought up these two posts from this community that mention some of those apps.

Hi there,

There are no built-in Jira gadgets that allows that. However, you can search on marketplace for this functionality - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=epic%20progress

Also, I have developed an app that does this - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219429/status-progress-report-gadget-for-jira

Hi @JP

Whilst I'm not sure about 2, we can help you with 1.

We created a plugin called Agile Docs which can help you report on Epic progress and group by team.

If you create a JQL filter which bring up all the issues for a specific team, you can then bring it up in Agile Docs to track:

1) Team Progress

2) Epic Progress within that team

3) Story and Sub-task progress

Hi @JP

If you would be interested in a ready made solution, You may want to try out our plugin,

Agile Tools : Epic Tree & Time in Status

The plugin provides complete hierarchy of your EPpicswith their statuses, % progress at each level and much more.

Along with this the add-on also provides Links Hierarchy, Multiple (more than 8) Time in Status reports to track your issues and Worklogs report to track time spent each day/week/month, based multiple filters/group
