Create custom column in Jira Agile Board

Hi,

Is there a way to create custom column in a JIRA Agile Boards, similar to what is done to Swim Lanes? I like very much the flexibility of market kanban tools, where a user can set ad hoc columns and move cards to those columns. 

In JIRA I only could find status based columns, it doesn't fit all use cases.

Hi Ollie,

I believe there is more in Kanban boards than mapping workflow status. For instance, they can be used to depict user story maps (where the column represent the activity)  or even depict retrospective outputs.

Plugins are needless on those case and not the optimal solution, only if we could have some flexibility on how to arrange columns.

Would you please try to modify process, increase state, to match the different columns in the kanban?
