Hello,
Working as a novice scrum master in a growing digital agency. Two of our clients have requested to access our Jira software to view project status. Together with my teams we discussed that they should only have limited viewing options, such that they can only view issue titles, backlog and the current sprint. Is this possible in Jira (no further details, such as estimates or comments)?
I started with creating a new user groups "clients" that have project specific editing roles, but I'm unsure if this will have the desired outcome.
Does anybody have experience in creating a limited client account? If so, I would very much get in touch!
Thanks in advance.
Hello @Jules Rutten
Welcome to the community.
I have seen posts about allowing anonymous access to your JIRA instance as a way to let customers view Software project content without requiring the expenditure of User Licenses.
Alternately, you can set up customers with JIRA Software User licenses.
With Company Managed projects it is possible to restrict users so that they can see only specified projects, through the use of User Groups and Permission Schemes. However I've not seen any posts about creating custom screens that present only a subset of fields, allow such users to see the backlog, and only the current sprint. I don't think that level of constraint can be implemented without an app.
I did see this post that has some comments you might find useful.
