We have implemented multiple workflows to manage our tasks efficiently. To achieve this, we utilize various automations between Slack and Jira, as well as a process for creating tickets using URLs.

One specific example is when we request our colleagues to submit tickets using a Jira URL. This URL includes predefined properties, such as the epic link, which is a custom field defined within our project.

However, recently there have been changes related to the epic link functionality, as described in this article: [Upcoming Changes - Epic Link Replaced with Parent](https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/upcoming-changes-epic-link-replaced-with-parent/). This change has caused one of our automations to stop working.

Before the epic-related changes, the URL structure for creating an issue was as follows:

https://orgname.atlassian.net/secure/CreateIssueDetails!init.jspa?pid=11262&issuetype=10101&customfield_10005=DT-100

I am currently trying to fix this issue by replacing the customfield parameter with the parent parameter in the URL. However, when I create tickets using the updated URL after the epic-related changes, the parent field remains blank.

URL after epic-related changes:

https://orgname.atlassian.net/secure/CreateIssueDetails!init.jspa?pid=11262&issuetype=10101&parent=DT-1000

I would appreciate any insights or suggestions on what might be causing this issue.

Hi @Wojtek Deka , Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The Field is named "Parent Link". But you can stick with customfield ID. Here's how to find out the ID for the Field in your instance:

https://<yoursite>.atlassian.net/secure/admin/ViewCustomFields.jspa?page=1&searchFilter=parent

This should filter for Field parent link.
Now click on the three points to the right of the field and hover over "View field information".
Your browser should preview a link like this:
https://<yoursite>.atlassian.net/secure/admin/ConfigureCustomField!default.jspa?customFieldId=10018
