Hello everyone!
We have connected Jira to Slack, and as we have clients in Slack's channels, we are happy we have the option to create Jira ticket from the client's message.
However, we have required fields when creating tickets, and cannot create one from Slack (other than doing it manually which we want to bypass is possible).
Is there any way to create a Jira ticket from Slack with more fields than just what is offered?
Thanks!
Best,
Andrea
@andrea I have good news! The Jira + Slack integration now supports creating issues with required fields! Before, you could only add a Summary and Description, but now the integration can dynamically pull in fields from your project/issue type so that you can fill in those required fields straight from Slack.
Give it a try and let us know what you think! Just use /jira create in a Slack conversation.
As a caveat, we have solved for most types of required fields in Jira, but there are still a slight few that are not supported.
Cheers,
David Michelson

Hi @andrea
I don't know any built-in solution, but you can do it using Zapier or one of the apps from the Atlassian Marketplace https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?product=jira&query=slack&_ga=2.178361767.225139948.1583140787-954212144.1570005741

Thanks for answering.
When we create issue from Slack, it is created in the backlog. Is it possible for an issue to be automatically moved to section ''in progress''?
Thanks,
Andrea
