Hello,
We have very large number of custom fields which are needed to be cleaned up.
I want to merge same kind of fields without loosing data to get rid of custom fields.
As most of the fields are being used by different projects, what to take care of before deleting them?
Can anyone provide the checklist before proceed?
Looks like https://confluence.atlassian.com/clean/clean-up-your-jira-instance-1018788592.html is what you can use if your version of jira is not uptodate.
While https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/analyzing-the-usage-of-custom-fields-1047552722.html is better when you are at least on version 8.16.
Hi @Gaurav
If you are looking for help. I can recommend to try dedicated tool to cleanup and data governance. Doctor Pro for Jira which will do instance assessment and help you to execute it.
Cheers,
Hubert

Hi Mayur,
Thanks for your reply, Can you please guide me how do I see "issues" as that column is not getting displayed when I browse fields.
I have gone through and give superficial idea about cleaning the whole instance. I need to focus on only custom fields.
Thanks.
Gaurav
