Custom field configuration description vs Custom field description

Does the custom field description take precedence over the field configuration scheme description of the same field?  

For example. 

Custom field "Risk Impact". 

While in my custom fields admin screen I can add a description for that "Risk Impact" field like normal. 

Then I can go to my Default field configuration scheme and go to the "Risk Impact" field and enter a completely different description. 

Which description value should show when I go to create screen and see that fields description information?

Hi JP,

The description defined with the custom field in the Field Configuration scheme takes precedence.
